Original job description

Founded over 35 years ago, First Quality is a family-owned company that has grown from a small business in McElhattan, Pennsylvania into a group of companies, employing over 5,000 team members, while maintaining our family values and entrepreneurial spirit. With corporate offices in New York and Pennsylvania and 8 manufacturing campuses across the U.S. and Canada, the companies within the First Quality group produce high-quality personal care and household products for large retailers and healthcare organizations. Our personal care and household product portfolio includes baby diapers, wipes, feminine pads, paper towels, bath tissue, adult incontinence products, laundry detergents, fabric finishers, and dishwash solutions. In addition, we manufacture certain raw materials and components used in the manufacturing of these products, including flexible print and packaging solutions.

Guided by our values of humility, unity, and integrity, we leverage advanced technology and innovation to drive growth and create new opportunities. At First Quality, you’ll find a collaborative environment focused on continuous learning, professional development, and our mission to Make Things Better®.

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP PLM Solution Engineer with proven expertise in SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) and PLM tools. This role focuses on designing and building new solutions within the PLM and MDM domains to support product development, engineering, and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will work closely with business and technical teams to deliver innovative, scalable, and integrated solutions - without involvement in routine patching, upgrades, or system maintenance.

Primary responsibilities include:

Solution Design & Development
Lead the design and build of new functionalities in SAP MDG, and PLM systems to meet evolving business needs.
Develop and implement integration solutions between PLM tools (e.g., SAP PLM, LeverX IPS) and SAP ERP systems.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define specifications, and translate them into technical solutions.
Data Governance & Process Enablement
Establish and implement master data governance frameworks, workflows, and approval processes.
Define and enforce data standards, naming conventions, and validation rules to ensure data quality.
Enable efficient product lifecycle processes through system enhancements and automation.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to optimize engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain processes through PLM and MDM solutions.
Evaluate emerging technologies and tools to enhance PLM and MDG capabilities.
Provide thought leadership on best practices for data management and product lifecycle integration.
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
Partner with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and IT to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Prepare functional and technical documentation for new solutions.
Conduct knowledge transfer and training sessions for business users and technical support teams.

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
5+ years of experience in SAP MDM and MDG solution design and implementation.
3+ years of experience with PLM tools (SAP PLM, Leverx IPS or similar).
Strong understanding of SAP Materials, Vendors and customers data structures, BOM management, and engineering change management.
Proven track record in building and deploying new solutions rather than system maintenance.
Proficiency in SAP MDG configuration and customization.
Knowledge of PLM system architecture and integration methods (IDoc, BAPI, API, middleware).
Experience with data modeling, workflow design, and integration development.
Experience with BRFplus to maintain business validations
Understanding of manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Innovative mindset with a focus on delivering business value.

What We Offer You We believe that by continuously improving the quality of our benefits, we can help to raise the quality of life for our team members and their families. At First Quality you will receive:

Competitive base salary and bonus opportunities
Paid time off (three-week minimum)
Medical, dental and vision starting day one
401(k) with employer match
Paid parental leave
Child and family care assistance (dependent care FSA with employer match up to $3750)
Bundle of joy benefit (year's worth of free diapers to all team members with a new baby)
Tuition assistance
Wellness program with savings of up to $4,000 per year on insurance premiums
...and more!

First Quality is committed to protecting information under the care of First Quality Enterprises commensurate with leading industry standards and applicable regulations. As such, First Quality provides at least annual training regarding data privacy and security to employees who, as a result of their role specifications, may come in to contact with sensitive data.

First Quality is an Equal Opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identification, or protected Veteran status.
