NOW HIRING – PART-TIME CUSTODIAN

City of Festus Public Library Position: Part-Time CustodianDepartment: Public LibraryPay Rate: $18.00 per hourSchedule: 20 hours per weekEmployment Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt Position Overview The City of Festus is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time Custodian at the Festus Public Library. We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented individual who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for library patrons and staff. This position is responsible for performing routine cleaning, custodial maintenance, and general upkeep of the library facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Clean, sanitize, and maintain library facilities, including restrooms and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
• Empty trash receptacles and maintain cleanliness of waste disposal areas.
• Dust furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces.
• Restock restroom and cleaning supplies.
• Maintain a clean and inviting lobby and entrance area.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Six months to one year of related custodial and janitorial experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Possession of a valid Missouri driver's license.
• Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screenings, including a drug screening, physical examination, criminal history check, and background check.
• Ability to work independently, manage assigned responsibilities efficiently, and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour
• Work Schedule: 20 hours per week - 5 days per week M-F
• Paid Leave: Eligible for prorated vacation and sick leave benefits after one year of service, in accordance with City policy.
