Classroom Assistant

Family Development Services (FDS) is seeking caring and dependable individuals to serve as Classroom Assistants in Head Start preschool classrooms serving children ages 3-4.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting teachers in daily classroom activities
• Maintaining active supervision and ensuring child safety
• Assisting with meals, learning activities, and classroom routines
• Building positive relationships with children and families
• Supporting child development, school readiness, and positive behavior
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework preferred
• Ability to pass background checks and physical examination
• CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
