Research Operations Associate

Fahrenheit is recruiting Research Operations Associates across the United States to help digitize public-domain collections at libraries and archives near them. Applicants from all backgrounds are welcome.

This paid role provides hands-on experience with historical materials, scanning, and image quality review while expanding access to research resources. The position offers up to 40 hours per week at $20–30 per hour. Work requires in-person visits to local libraries and archives, with remote support from the Fahrenheit team.

Responsibilities:

• Identify public-domain paper and microform materials suitable for digitization.
• Handle and scan materials according to Fahrenheit’s guidelines.
• Review scans for completeness, clarity, and page order, then deliver them to the team.
• Follow each institution’s access and handling rules and work respectfully with its staff.

Locations vary by applicant. Applicants should identify their U.S. location and nearby libraries or archives in their application.
