Tapping Operator

Our client offers innovative fastening solutions for a variety of applications across industries like Automotive Electronics, Consumer Electronics, Datacom and more.

Position: Tapping Operator Monday - Friday: 7am-3:30pm, $21/hour The Tapping Operator safely operates tapping machines including loading parts into a bowl at or above shoulder height, replacing taps at predetermined intervals and removing chips from machines. Inspects parts visually and with thread plug gauge, along with filling out check sheet.

• Basic understanding of how to turn on the machine, indicate it, stop it, run it at full speed, and set jaws, fixtures, and vibratory feeders.
• Ability to properly identify and retrieve tools for the scheduled job.
• Proficiency in using hand measurement instruments (micrometers, indicators, calipers, thread gages, pin gages) to determine part conformance to specifications.
• Ability to replace broken/worn tooling and make proper tool offsets.
• Competence in reading basic part drawings.
• Must be able to do basic daily maintenance of equipment.
• Must be able to assist in long-term maintenance of equipment.
• Must be able to trouble-shoot drilling and tapping problems.
• Proficiency in Operating more piece of equipment at a time.
• Moves oily product from tapping machine area to a skid or cart.
• Tags containers to ensure product traceability
