Quality Technician

Job Title: Quality Technician City and State: Huntley, IL Pay Rate: $25.00/hour Schedule/Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Employment Type: Evaluation Hire

Summary:

This is a hands-on troubleshooting and failure analysis role focused on testing, inspecting, and diagnosing motors, gearmotors, and electromechanical equipment. The Quality Technician will investigate warranty claims and customer-reported issues, perform root cause analysis, disassemble components to identify failures, and document findings to support corrective actions and continuous product improvement. This position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys problem-solving and determining why equipment failed in the field.

Responsibilities:

• Test, inspect, and evaluate motors, gearmotors, and electromechanical products to verify quality and performance standards.
• Investigate warranty claims and customer quality concerns through hands-on troubleshooting and failure analysis.
• Perform root cause analysis, identify failure points, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and product specifications to verify compliance.
• Complete inspection reports, maintain quality documentation, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a Quality Technician, Quality Control, Testing, or related manufacturing role.
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and mechanical diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Experience using measuring, testing, and calibration equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• SAP or ERP experience preferred with strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
