Punch Press/Machine Operator

Our client, a premier manufacturer and distributor for the construction industry in Northeast San Antonio, is seeking a Punch Press Operator with knowledge of construction field a plus. This is a long-term assignment with an opportunity to go permanent with the client. Pay is $17/hour for 1st Shift. 2nd shift pays $18.50/hr. Job duties for the Punch Press Operator include:

• Performs daily inspection and pre-startup PM
• Ability to read drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirements
• Starts and operates hydraulic and mechanical presses
• Load/unload machine in an efficient, productive manner
• Observes safety and security procedures
• Responsible for keeping all tools, dies, machine controls in good working condition

Requirements for the Punch Press Operator are:

• HS or GED min
• Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, read a tape measure, caliper
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as requested
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment/deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events

Hours for the Punch Press Operator position are Monday-Friday, 1st Shift: 5AM - 1:30PM; 2nd Shift: 2PM-10:30PM. This is a long-term assignment with an opportunity to go permanent with the client.
