About the Role

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a full-time Mechanical Assembly Operator (2nd Shift) for a precision manufacturing facility in O'Fallon, MO (63366). This role features a 4-day work week (Monday through Thursday, 10-hour shifts) with 3-day weekends. In this position, you will assemble and load fixtures, perform precision quality checks, make basic machine/fixture adjustments, and operate material handling equipment. Paid on-the-job training and orientation are provided.

What You Will Do

• Assembly & Setup: Assemble, install, align, load, and unload fixtures or assemblies according to strict technical specifications.

• Quality Assurance: Submit initial sample parts to QA for approval; make necessary adjustments to machines or fixtures to ensure parts match technical specifications.

• Precision Measurement: Perform basic measurements and quality checks using calipers, micrometers, scales, and gauges.

• Material Handling: Safely operate material handling equipment (including stand-up and sit-down forklifts) to load, unload, and move materials across the plant.

• Materials Prep: Verify and ensure all required parts, materials, and hardware are staged and ready for production runs.

• Safety & Compliance: Follow safe work procedures, plant rules, and personal protective equipment protocols.

What You Need

• Technical & Math Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and schematics; practical basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals).

• Equipment Experience: Previous hands-on experience operating industrial material handling equipment (such as stand-up and sit-down forklifts).

• Quality Inspection Tools: Familiarity with precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, scales, and gauges.

• Communication & Safety Awareness: Ability to understand and follow safety protocols, team instructions, workplace signage, and technical work orders.

• Essential Physical Functions: Ability to remain standing, assemble mechanical parts, handle equipment, and move materials across the facility floor throughout a 10-hour shift (with or without reasonable accommodation).

• Safety & Reliability: Strong attendance record, daily punctuality, safety focus, and reliable transportation to O'Fallon, MO 63366.

• Screening Requirements: Willingness to complete standard pre-employment evaluations and background checks.
