Location: Allegan, MI Pay: $18.00–$20.00/hour, based on experience and expertise Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm; occasional overtime may be require

Position Summary

A local manufacturing company in Allegan, MI is seeking an experienced Material Handler to support warehouse, shipping and receiving, inventory, and production operations. This position involves receiving and preparing materials, operating stand-up and sit-down forklifts, handling raw metals and steel, and supplying materials to production employees.

The ideal candidate has previous experience working with raw metals in a manufacturing or fabrication environment and can accurately identify carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. This position also requires experience using measuring tools, including dial and digital calipers and tape measures.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming materials from vendors
• Prepare and coordinate outgoing shipments
• Service and deliver materials to production employees
• Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently
• Handle sheet steel, including carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, as well as structural steel
• Maintain and organize inventory within the warehouse
• Process paperwork associated with shipping, receiving, and material movement
• Measure and identify materials using tape measures and calipers
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Support additional work areas as needed

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous experience handling raw metals in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
• Ability to identify and distinguish between carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
• Proficiency using and reading dial calipers, digital calipers, and tape measures
• Ability to manage daily responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

Schedule & Pay

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm. Occasional overtime may be required to keep up with daily tasks.

Pay: $18.00–$20.00/hour, depending on experience and level of expertise.
