We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic I for a temporary assignment supporting a busy manufacturing facility through the end of September. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled industrial maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and keeping production equipment operating at peak performance.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic I is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on production equipment and facility machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility machinery
• Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment to minimize production downtime
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on production equipment
• Repair and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission systems
• Inspect equipment for proper operation and identify potential maintenance concerns
• Operate power tools, grinders, hoists, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments safely
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and repairs
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
• Follow all company safety policies and preventative maintenance procedures
• Work closely with production personnel to support manufacturing operations

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience
• Experience operating standard power tools, grinders, hoists, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments
• Solid understanding of:
• Pneumatic systems
• Hydraulic systems
• Pumps
• Overhead cranes
• Power transmission components (belts, pulleys, chains)
• Electrical troubleshooting and repair experience
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Reliable attendance and dependable work history

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on CNC machines is a plus but not required
• Manufacturing or industrial production environment experience
• Welding or fabrication experience is a plus
