Machine Operator - St. Clair, MO

Position Summary

This position is with one of our clients, at their St. Clair, MO plant; Express is recruiting on their behalf. The Polyurethane Machine Operator safely and efficiently runs the polyurethane mixing machine to pour custom concrete formliners, setting up molds, checking dimensions and making sure the urethane is poured at the proper ratio to cure.

Training runs approximately 90 days and is worked on 1st shift. After that, the position moves to its permanent 2nd shift schedule.

Mandatory when order volume calls for it, including occasional Saturdays; not much is expected

Pay

$20 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate the polyurethane mixing machine to pour custom concrete formliners.
• Set up molds and check their dimensions before pouring.
• Set up and run the machine accurately, making sure the urethane is poured at the proper ratio to cure.
• Operate a forklift to move materials and finished product.
• Use woodworking and shop tools as needed: tape measure, die grinders, belt sanders, circular saw, miter saw, table saw, drills and impact drivers.
• Apply grease to grease fittings and change oil as part of routine machine upkeep.
• Follow all client safety and PPE rules and keep the work area clean.

Required qualifications

• Able to safely operate a forklift.
• Able to measure accurately within 1/16 of an inch.
• Able to lift 50 lbs overhead consistently throughout the day.
• Basic mechanical skills: applying grease to grease fittings and changing oil.
• About a year of machine operation and forklift experience is preferred but not required; the client will fully train the right person.
• Reliable attendance and availability for mandatory overtime. Must pass a background check and drug screen.

Conditions and Pay

• Standing and walking the entire shift other than lunch and rest breaks.
• Lifting 50 lbs overhead consistently throughout the day; occasional step ladder use.
• Confined space work up to 10 minutes about once a week to grease fittings on the machines.
• Production floor with required PPE.
• $20 per hour. Training runs 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for approximately the first 90 days, then the shift becomes 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
