Entry-Level CNC Machinist

Location: Gainesville, FL Pay: $18–$24 per hour, depending on experience Job type: Full-time, on-site Schedule: Day shift 8AM-5PM M-F

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting an Entry-Level CNC Machinist for a Gainesville manufacturer. This opportunity is ideal for someone with approximately six months to one year of machine operation experience in a production environment who wants to develop precision machining skills.

Previous CNC experience is helpful, but it is not required. You’ll receive training and work alongside experienced machinists to learn CNC operation, basic setups, tooling, and part inspection.

What you’ll do

• Operate CNC milling machines using established programs and work instructions.

• Load and unload parts and monitor machines during production.

• Assist with basic setups, fixtures, tooling, and material preparation.

• Learn tool changes, offset adjustments, and basic controller adjustments under supervision.

• Check finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.

• Deburr and clean parts for inspection or the next production step.

• Document production and inspection results.

• Report equipment problems or quality concerns and maintain a clean, safe work area.

What we’re looking for

• Approximately six months to one year of machine operation experience in a production environment.

• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with basic hand tools.

• Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and measurements.

• Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.

• Willingness to learn engineering drawings, dimensional tolerances, and precision measuring tools.

• Dependability and a commitment to safety and quality.

Helpful, but not required

• Experience operating CNC equipment.

• Machine shop experience.

• Technical coursework or certification in machining, CNC operation, or manufacturing.

• Experience using calipers or micrometers.

Compensation and benefits
