Original job description
Our client is seeking an experienced Workday Solution Architect to lead a strategic assessment of migrating from SAP SuccessFactors to Workday. As a Workday Solution Architect, you will help evaluate feasibility, business value, technical complexity, risks, and long-term implications across the enterprise HR technology landscape - translating complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
Workday Solution Architect Location: Remote Contract on W2 Pay Range:$65.80/Hr to $80.30/Hr What's the Job?
- Conduct current-state assessment of the SuccessFactors landscape, including Employee Central, Compensation, Performance, Goals, Succession, Calibration, Reporting, and Learning, along with connected HR applications and integrations.
- Lead fit-gap analysis by evaluating existing HR processes against Workday HCM, Talent, Compensation, Performance, and Reporting capabilities - identifying functional gaps, customization needs, and opportunities to standardize processes.
- Design future-state solution architecture options, defining application boundaries, integration patterns, technology dependencies, and opportunities to simplify the HR technology ecosystem.
- Develop integration strategy by assessing existing interfaces and classifying them as retain, rebuild, or retire; define target integration architecture using Workday integration tools, enterprise middleware, APIs, and appropriate integration technologies.
- Define migration, governance, security, and compliance approach - covering employee data migration (including historical and effective-dated records), data cleansing, archival/retention, reconciliation/validation, and role-based security, privacy, GDPR, data residency, and auditability considerations. What's Needed?
- 12+ years of experience in HRIS, HR technology, enterprise applications, or digital transformation, including at least 5 years in Workday solution architecture.
- Proven experience in global, multi-country Workday HCM implementations, transformations, or migrations.
- Multiple full-cycle Workday implementations, preferably involving migration from SAP SuccessFactors.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors modules such as Employee Central, Compensation, Performance and Goals, Succession, Calibration, and Learning.
- Deep enterprise integration architecture experience, including Workday integration tools, middleware platforms, REST/SOAP APIs, and third-party system connectivity, plus experience integrating HR platforms with payroll, time and attendance, recruiting, onboarding, and related applications. What's in it for me?
- Opportunity to drive a high-impact enterprise HR transformation assessment from strategy through architecture and executive decision support.
- Chance to apply end-to-end expertise across Workday HCM, Talent, Compensation, Performance, Reporting, and Analytics - while shaping practical implementation options.
- Role visibility with HR, IT, Finance, and executive leadership through architecture trade-offs, business case development, and go/no-go recommendations.
- Ownership of structured evaluation deliverables, including risk registers, weighted feasibility models, and phased transformation roadmaps.
- Collaboration with internal HRIS teams, integration specialists, vendors, and system integrators - providing architectural guidance and mentoring throughout the assessment.
