Please no 3rd party subcontract inquiries
Model Ownership Consultant Our banking client is seeking a Model Ownership Consultant to support governance, oversight, monitoring, and issue management activities for critical business models. This is an ideal opportunity for professionals who understand how analytical models operate within a regulated environment and can effectively coordinate across business, technology, operations, risk, and compliance teams. This is not a model development or data science position. The models already exist. The focus is on model oversight, governance, performance monitoring, stakeholder engagement, issue investigation, and remediation management. The successful candidate will serve as a central point of coordination, ensuring models are operating as intended, performance issues are identified and addressed, and governance requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the owner and coordinator for assigned model governance and oversight activities
- Develop a strong understanding of existing models, including business purpose, inputs, outputs, assumptions, and performance metrics
- Monitor model health, performance dashboards, thresholds, and exception reporting
- Investigate model issues, performance degradation, and control concerns
- Drive remediation efforts by coordinating cross-functional teams
- Partner with business, technology, risk, operations, and compliance stakeholders to resolve model-related issues
- Track action items, dependencies, risks, and remediation milestones
- Support governance routines, control processes, and regulatory requirements
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and communicate status updates to leadership
- Ensure documentation, controls, and governance activities remain current and audit-ready Required Qualifications
- Experience owning, managing, governing, or overseeing analytical models, business models, risk models, or operational models
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills
- Experience operating within governance, control, risk, or regulatory frameworks
- Ability to understand model logic, inputs, outputs, and performance metrics without being the individual who built the model
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience coordinating issue management, root cause analysis, and remediation efforts
- Excellent communication and presentation skills Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to SQL, SAS, or similar technologies used within analytical environments
- Experience supporting model governance, model risk management, controls, or regulatory programs
- Financial services, banking, insurance, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other highly regulated industry experience
