Mainframe Developer

Our client is seeking a Mainframe Developer to join their team. As a Mainframe Developer, you will be part of the software engineering organization supporting enterprise modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong drive to modernize legacy systems, a collaborative mindset across technical and business stakeholders, and a proactive approach to using AI coding tools and agentic AI to increase productivity. Job Title:Mainframe Developer Location:Southlake, TX or Austin, TX Pay Range:$65-$68/hr What's the Job?

• Design, develop, and implement modernization solutions for interfaces between legacy mainframe applications and distributed applications.
• Own architecture solutioning, design, development, and implementation of complex software that supports CABPT processing capabilities.
• Build and maintain interfaces and callouts from mainframe to distributed platforms to enable scalable, maintainable processing.
• Evaluate existing legacy systems and propose improvements to performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Develop automated processes for legacy applications to improve consistency, efficiency, and delivery timelines. What's Needed?
• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, DB2, Datacom, SQL, SQL Stored Procedures, IBM MQ or Kafka, CICS, Easytrieve, REXX, and SORT utilities.
• Strong experience with high-volume transactions processing, including brokerage experience.
• 10+ years of software development experience with at least 3+ years in a lead/co-lead role.
• 3-4 years of experience with tools such as Control-M, ChangeMan, FileAid, Startool, STARBAT, Xpeditor, TOAD, and SPUFI. What's in it for me?
