Original job description

Our Company

We are a leading plastics manufacturing company with an emphasis on strategic engineering and innovation. We use the latest processes and software to elevate the way we manufacture parts, all the while forming strong relationships with customers and each other.

Our people are our number-one priority, and we are committed to helping you reach your personal and career goals through continuous learning and development opportunities, competitive compensation and benefits, and an enhanced work-life balance.

Role Summary

As a D-Shift Automation Technician, you will help keep production running smoothly by maintaining and supporting plant automation and controls on D Shift (7pm–7am Wednesday–Friday and every other Saturday). The role is in place to limit unplanned downtime, improve repeatability, and provide fast response to equipment and programming needs.

Key responsibilities include troubleshooting automation and controls issues, completing routine preventive maintenance, and making focused adjustments that improve automation performance. You’ll document program/equipment changes and partner with technicians and engineering to restore safe, stable operation.

Required qualifications/skills:

  • Robotics & Automation experience
  • PLC programming experience
  • PC design software experience
  • Mechanical and electrical experience

If you’re ready to build hands-on automation capability in a manufacturing setting, apply today.

Shift Flow

You begin the night by reviewing production status, open items, and handoff notes from the prior crew. As the shift settles in, you alternate between the floor and control areas to confirm equipment behavior, verify program versions, and ensure recent changes are performing as expected. When a disruption occurs, you work through it step by step - observing symptoms, checking signals, and sharing clear updates so operations can plan around recovery. Before shift end, you capture what was found, what was changed, and what should be monitored on the next run.

Benefits Overview

Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage are provided to support day-to-day health needs and preventive care. A 401(k) plan is available to help you plan for long-term financial goals, and Life Insurance adds an additional layer of protection. Paid Time Off is included so you can step away to recharge and manage personal commitments.
