Description

About Us

eSimplicity is a modern digital services company that partners with government agencies to improve the lives and protect the well-being of all Americans, from veterans and service members to children, families, and seniors. Our engineers, designers, and strategists cut through complexity to create intuitive products and services that equip federal agencies with solutions to courageously transform today for a better tomorrow.

We're seeking a Accounting Associate II to support our growing Finance team with a blend of day-to-day accounting operations and financial analysis. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter with strong analytical skills and experience in the government contracting industry who can manage both transactional tasks and meaningful financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

Ensure invoices are accurate, complete, and submitted on time
Complete project setup and maintenance in the onboarding, accounting, and timekeeping system (Unanet), reflecting changes as projects evolve
Assist with contracts, modifications, and purchase orders
Coordinate and review travel and expense reports for compliance and accuracy
Respond to internal inquiries related to charge codes and timesheets with timely and accurate information
Maintain and manage program budgets for federal government contracts, including monthly financial reports, variance analyses, forecasts and estimates at completion (EACs).
Analyze program financial performance against budgets, forecasts and contract requirements to identify trends, variances and areas for improvement.
Monitor indirect rates, labor utilization and project profitability.
Set up and maintain projects in the accounting and timekeeping systems, updating them for contract modifications and funding changes.
Track contract funding, expenditure and revenue recognition.
Communicate project financial status to internal and external stakeholders, and prepare ad hoc analyses as requested.
Prepare financial data and maintain documentation for customer reviews, audits and contract closeouts, in line with company procedures and government regulations (FAR, CAS, DCAA).
Handle sensitive and confidential financial information with discretion
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
2+ years of accounting experience
Working knowledge of accounting and finance principles, policies, and standards
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and SharePoint
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey financial information to non-finance stakeholders

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with Unanet (ERP/timekeeping system)
Experience in the federal or government contracting industry
Familiarity with project-based accounting or cost-plus contract structures

Working Environment:

eSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by your manager.

Occasional travel for training and project meetings. It is estimated to be less than 5% per year.

Benefits:

eSimplicity offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) retirement benefits, paid time off, paid holidays, life and disability insurance, and additional wellness and employee support programs. Eligibility may vary based on employment status and applicable plan terms.

Reasonable Accommodation:

eSimplicity is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities during the application and hiring process. Applicants who need assistance or an accommodation should contact Human Resources.

Equal Employment Opportunity:

eSimplicity is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, protected veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status.
