Original job description

About ERA Structural Engineering

At ERA Structural Engineering, we believe great engineering creates value beyond the structure itself. Every decision starts with a simple question:

What solution creates the greatest value for the client and the entire project team?

We call that Think Beyond The Beam

Thinking Beyond the Beam means looking beyond the immediate task to understand what matters most. By understanding project goals and delivering practical, buildable solutions, we create value that helps projects succeed, builds trust, and strengthens lasting relationships.

That approach depends on people who take ownership. At ERA, ownership means looking beyond your individual responsibilities to understand how your work contributes to the success of the project, your teammates, and our clients. Here, every team member is encouraged to think like an owner, take initiative, and make decisions that create value.

If you're looking for a place where your work matters, where you're trusted to make an impact, and where solving meaningful problems is part of every day, you'll find a strong fit at ERA.

ERA seeks a motivated Sr. Structural Engineer who is interested in growing a rewarding career. As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for working with a variety of clients, including architects, owners, and contractors, to create structural designs and construction documents within a team setting. You will coordinate with project partners and assist with executing the structural design.

As a key member of our structural engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering accurate project plans on time and within budget, consistently exceeding client expectations. Your role will involve performing structural analysis of buildings and other structures using current software and designing structural systems with concrete, steel, timber, and other materials. You will collaborate with project partners and clients to solve complex problems with a service-minded approach and coordinate with the internal team on design drawings and report preparation. Additionally, you will provide guidance to less experienced engineers, review the work of other engineers and BIM modelers, and work with construction partners to ensure a smooth construction process. Managing project workload and assisting with staffing needs are also critical aspects of this role, contributing to the overall success of our projects.

ERA supports the continued professional growth of experienced engineers through internal continuing education, a formal mentorship program, and opportunities to expand technical expertise and industry relationships. Senior engineers are encouraged to strengthen their professional networks through industry associations, client engagement, and collaboration on marketing and business development initiatives.
