Program Controls Coordinator

Full-Time, In-office, must be willing to commute to Lafayette, Colorado.

About EOI Space

EOI Space is building a next-generation satellite constellation in Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO) to deliver the highest-resolution Earth imagery available from space. Flying lower than traditional satellites lets us capture sharper, more timely data, giving commercial and defense customers a clearer picture of a rapidly changing world, faster than ever before.

Based in Lafayette, Colorado, we’re a small, mission-driven team moving fast to bring this capability to market. As we scale toward Series B and beyond, we’re looking for people who want real ownership over their function and see the undefined parts of this stage as the opportunity, not the obstacle.

About the Role

We are seeking a Program Controls Coordinator to serve as the right hand of our Chief Engineer/Technical Program Manager (CE/TPM). Working alongside the responsible engineers for each subsystem, you’ll keep visibility on the critical path, expedite material and information, and make sure open items never stall while waiting on a response. It’s a support role today, but one involved in every major program decision, with room to grow technically and into programmatic leadership. We’re looking for someone who is effective with the systems available rather than dependent on a particular platform, and who thrives in a fast-paced environment where process is often still being established. Travel is expected to be under 10%. This role reports to the Chief Engineer/Technical Program Manager.

This is a full-time, exempt, in-office position based in Lafayette, Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Support the CE/TPM in developing and maintaining the program schedule; maintain visibility into the critical path and drive closure of activities on it.
  • Collect subsystem status and produce complete, accurate status reports; organize status meetings and reviews, including scheduling, material assembly, and distribution.
  • Track bill of materials (BOM) and drawing release status so parts can be identified and placed on order without delay.
  • Enter purchase requisitions and track them through approval, purchase order placement, and confirmed delivery dates.
  • Maintain the shortage list, track long-lead items, and support resolution of procurement issues.
  • Partner daily with responsible engineers and the CE/TPM to advance execution: obtain outstanding answers, resolve blocking issues, and convene the right stakeholders when a matter needs discussion.
  • Help maintain the risk and opportunity (R&O) register and follow up with the team on mitigation activities.
  • Capture notes in working sessions and reviews, publish action items with owners and due dates, and follow up through closure.
  • Own monthly Estimate to Complete (ETC) tracking: reconcile estimates against actuals, maintain the forecast, and report cost position and variances to the CE/TPM.
  • Track submission status for launch deliverables.
  • Escalate schedule, cost, or scope slips to the CE/TPM as they emerge rather than waiting for scheduled reviews.
  • Recommend improvements to the metrics and reporting used to track program execution.
  • Additional duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, operations management, or a related field; equivalent directly related experience may be substituted.
  • 4-6 years of experience in project coordination, program support, planning, scheduling, or project controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive tasks to closure across multiple technical disciplines and to influence without authority.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining schedules, including dependencies, critical path, and milestone tracking.
  • Experience supporting hardware programs, including purchase requisitions, long-lead tracking, expediting, and supplier delivery follow-up.
  • Experience with project cost tracking, including spend against plan, forecasting, and explaining variances.
  • Experience working within an ERP or accounting system.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • U.S. person status as defined under the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 772.1): U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual.

Highly Preferred:

  • Experience in space or another hardware development environment.
  • Passion for building and cultivating positive relationships with team members and external vendors.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, with a drive for building and maintaining scalable and sustainable processes.
  • People-first approach that contributes to a welcoming and collaborative atmosphere within the organization.

Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment:

  • Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment
  • Performs highly complex and varied tasks requiring independent knowledge and its application to a variety of situations, as well as exercising independent judgement
  • Requires the use of office equipment such as a computer and telephone
  • May view computer screens for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to prioritize activities when faced with competing demands
  • This position requires the skill set to work independently, exercising sound judgement while maintaining high productivity levels
  • Requires elevated levels of electronic and telephone communication

Compensation

We believe in compensating our team fairly for the expertise and ownership this role demands. The base salary range for this position is $80,000-$100,000, plus equity, reflecting both the specialized skillset we’re looking for and our commitment to growing alongside the people who help us get there.
