Original job description

Seeking a talented and driven Operations Geologist to join our Denver team. In this role, you will be responsible for geosteering horizontal wells in real time, utilizing a variety of tools and techniques to ensure optimal wellbore placement. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes geologists, drilling engineers, reservoir engineers, and mud loggers, playing a central role in the technical decision-making process from planning through execution.

A key aspect of this position is interfacing directly with field personnel during operations, requiring a solid understanding of drilling rig operations, directional drilling principles, and mud logging practices. You will be expected to interpret subsurface data in real time, provide sound technical analysis, and make confident decisions in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and timeliness are equally critical. Because drilling operations run continuously, this role requires flexibility to work off-hours, nights, and weekends as needed.

A Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geophysics, Engineering, or a closely related field is required. Prior experience geosteering horizontal wells is strongly preferred, as is previous experience in the oil and gas industry. Experience or knowledge in well planning, drilling rig operations, geo-steering techniques, and mud logging practices are considered a plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential given the collaborative and cross-disciplinary nature of the role. This position will be filled at a level commensurate with the candidate's experience.

Min $103,500.00 / Max $187,500.00
