Original job description

Overview

Enterprise Fleet Management (EFM), an affiliate of Enterprise Mobility, is a privately held, full-service fleet management business for companies, government agencies and organizations with medium-sized fleets. With more than 60 fully staffed offices nationwide, our team of experts can assemble a customized or full-service fleet management program that is just right for each business. With a North American fleet of 800,000 vehicles and growing at 5 percent, the opportunity with Enterprise Fleet Management is tremendous. With over 2,500 employees, Fleet Operations supports the growth of the Fleet Management Groups nationwide with lease vehicle acquisition, maintenance, accident repair, insurance tracking, and license and title services. Our business continues to thrive, and we remain committed to the investment in and the development of our people. We do the right thing by our customers and employees every time and in every situation. Not only is that great for business (as seen in our global growth and success) - it’s also great for our employees. Our operations center is located approximately three miles from the corporate campus in St. Louis, MO.

The IT department of Enterprise Fleet Management (EFM) builds and implements powerful solutions that help to drive and support the operations of our business spread across the US and Canada. Here, you will be part of a team that creates and delivers leading-edge technologies and expansive systems that impact every aspect of our growing businesses. We provide the resources to enable and develop our innovative IT professionals in a variety of career paths.

Being a member of EFM IT offers all the advantages of a smaller shop including the opportunity to shape a more progressive architecture. Professionals who effectively navigate change and readily wear many hats will find this an opportunity to maximize skill diversity and build broad IT experience.

As an EFM IT team member, we offer an excellent package with market-competitive pay, comprehensive healthcare packages, 401k matching & profit sharing, schedule flexibility, work from home opportunities, paid time off, and organizational growth potential.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, which includes the ability to work from home, while also requiring to be in person as needed at our Lakeside and/or Clayton Corporate HQ campus locations in St. Louis, Missouri.

We are committed to a fair and transparent hiring process. Candidates should expect identity verification, video interviews, technical validation of skills, and verification of employment, education, and work authorization. Falsification of information, proxy interviewing, or misrepresentation of experience or location will result in disqualification.

Responsibilities

The Enterprise Fleet Management (EFM) IT Team supports a variety of applications related to client, leasing, financial, and employee needs. These applications run on platforms including Java/Oracle, Microsoft/SQL Server/.NET, PeopleSoft Financials, Oracle BI, and Salesforce. Now is an exciting time to be part of this team as we are growing our portfolio of innovative solutions that support consistent and reliable experiences for our customers in an evolving transportation landscape.

EFM IT is seeking an IT Manager (Application Development) to join our team. In this role, you will lead a group of software engineers, analysts, and testers responsible for projects, enhancements, and day‑to‑day support of critical applications that enable our business users to manage insurance claims and insurance coverage for leased and non-leased vehicles, and process customer billings from several EFM applications. These applications are used daily and are essential to EFM’s operations, requiring a strong focus on stability, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.

Success in this role depends on strong collaboration with business stakeholders, application teams across EFM, and an external software partner. In addition, a willingness to learn the fundamentals of insurance claim accounting and understand the various integration points across Risk systems are critical to success.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage complex initiatives, projects, and programs that often span multiple disciplines/domains
Collaborate with key business stakeholders and IT leaders across EFM to deliver secure and reliable services that meet business objectives and industry mandates
Maintain ongoing relationships with IT and business leaders, and serve as an escalation point for issues
Provide leadership in career planning/support, training, interviewing, hiring, rewarding, disciplining, and performance reviews
Build, coach, and grow a high-performing team of software engineers, analysts, and testers through mentoring and career development
Foster a collaborative team culture that supports diversity and inclusion
Communicate business goals and model company culture
Manage time, expenses, and forecasting for areas of responsibility
Lead resource planning and allocation to support business objectives
Ensure development tools and processes align with security, compliance, and operational best practices
Define goals, strategic solutions, and processes that support the overall strategic vision of the area
Identify, develop, and implement policies, standards, and procedures that support team activities and lead individuals in adhering to and supporting team procedures
Assess and prioritize work efforts in an environment that receives new work daily

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to establish and maintain solid working relationships with direct reports, peers, management, and teams/departments within the IT organization
Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and modern DevOps practices
Well-versed in project management concepts, with the ability to take on many project management responsibilities simultaneously and regularly
Strong commitment to relationship building and influencing to successfully establish and grow this function within IT
Strong communication and listening skills, with a strong leadership presence
Ability to ensure compliance with standards, processes, and procedures in daily responsibilities

If you’re a collaborative and engaging leader who enjoys rising to challenges, building high‑performing teams, strengthening partnerships, improving processes, and delivering high‑quality software and support, consider this opportunity and apply today!
