About ECS

We’re in the risk management business. With our help, our clients keep their fire sprinkler systems safe. Whether it’s a risk to lives, structures, properties, or everyday business, we guide clients to the best answer for their safety. Corrosion is our enemy and safety is our goal.

To accomplish that goal, we’ve come to understand why and how corrosion happens. There’s no one-size-fits-all solution because a truly cost-effective combination of devices, systems, and management approaches depends on your individual needs. And we never stop finding new and better ways to serve those needs.

About the Role

The Mechanical Engineer I supports the design, development, and continuous improvement of ECS products throughout the entire product life cycle. This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, sales, and customers to develop new products, enhance existing product lines, and drive quality and cost improvement initiatives. The Mechanical Engineer I collaborates cross-functionally with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, sales, and customers to ensure products are designed, produced, and delivered to meet performance, quality, and business objectives. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative engineering solutions while supporting operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do

Design and develop innovative mechanical solutions for new products and enhancements to existing product lines.
Create 3D models, components, and assemblies that meet performance, quality, and customer requirements.
Select, specify, and integrate purchased and vendor-supplied components into product designs.
Develop engineering documentation, including drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), specifications, P&IDs, and other technical records.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, sales, and customers throughout the product lifecycle.
Ensure designs are manufacturable, maintainable, cost-effective, and compliant with applicable safety standards.
Participate in and contribute to design reviews, providing technical recommendations and incorporating feedback.
Design, build, and test prototypes and test fixtures to validate product performance and functionality.
Provide technical support and engineering expertise to internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, reliability, and cost reduction.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
1-3 years of experience in a mechanical engineering design role, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Experience using CAD software for mechanical design, with proficiency in SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar 3D modeling tools.
Working knowledge of engineering standards and regulations, including OSHA, ANSI, and CE requirements.
Understanding of materials selection, manufacturing processes, and fabrication methods.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technical communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Ability to occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 pounds and work in manufacturing and testing environments as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting new product development projects from concept through production.
Experience with compressed air systems or related industrial equipment.
Experience using FEA and/or CFD tools to support product design and analysis.
Exposure to prototype development, testing, and validation activities.
Familiarity with continuous improvement, quality enhancement, and cost-reduction initiatives.

Equal Opportunity Employer

Engineered Corrosion Solutions is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace and provide accommodations throughout the hiring process. If you require assistance or an accommodation due to a disability, please contact our Human Resources team to discuss your needs.
