Original job description
Specific Role:
We’re looking for a Production Schedueler to own production planning in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365 F&O) and make sure what we build matches what we sell. Nothing more, nothing less. You’ll turn sales forecasts and customer orders into a production schedule that covers demand without burying any department or leaving one sitting idle. You’ll firm and release planned orders based on real need, keep an eye out for overproduction, and be the go-to scheduling person between Sales, Production and our Operational Excellence team. You’ll report to the Operational Excellence Manager. If you love the systems side of planning but also like getting out on the floor and working with people, this one’s for you.
Key Accountabilities:
- Build and maintain the master production schedule in D365 F&O, making sure planned production fully covers sales order demand across all departments
- Translate sales forecasts, customer orders and inventory positions into accurate, achievable planned orders
- Monitor and adjust planning parameters like lead times, safety stock and lot sizing to keep the schedule realistic and demand-driven
- Check scheduled workload against available capacity so no department gets over-scheduled
- Partner with Production Managers to rebalance load across departments and shifts when bottlenecks pop up
- Flag capacity conflicts early enough to fix them before they hit delivery commitments
- Review, firm and release planned orders in D365 F&O, making sure quantities and timing reflect actual demand, not convenience
- Monitor open planned and production orders to prevent overproduction, excess WIP and unnecessary inventory buildup
- Reconcile planned orders against actual consumption and adjust future planning runs to keep output aligned with demand
- Serve as the main scheduling point of contact between Sales, Production and Operational Excellence
- Maintain scheduling dashboards and reports in D365 F&O showing demand coverage, schedule adherence and capacity utilization
- Participate in demand and supply review meetings, and proactively communicate schedule changes and risks
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of production planning, master scheduling or materials planning experience, ideally in manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with an ERP/MRP system; Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of MRP concepts like lead times, safety stock, lot sizing and capacity planning
- Strong Excel and reporting skills
- Detail-oriented with good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Clear communicator who can work across Sales, Production and leadership and keep everyone aligned
- APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP) is a plus
We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome candidates from all backgrounds. Pay Range
$70,000 - $90,000 USD
