We specialize in providing systems integration and control solutions for schools, universities, office buildings, laboratories,manufacturingand biotech/pharmaceutical facilities.

Ourcontrolstechnicians are an integral member of the EMC Services team andare responsible forthe startup of building automation systems at sites throughout Massachusettsand Rhode Island. Our customer sites range from simple office buildings to laboratory spaces with complex sequences and stringent control criteria. OurControl System Specialistsareface to face with our customers every day andareultimately responsiblefor the success of the building's control system. They are responsible for programming controllers, setting up communication between controllers, completingpoint-to-pointcheckoutfor field sensors and actuators and finally,commissioning the sequence of operations to ensure the equipment isaccomplishingthedesiredresultfor occupants. Training is provided in-house,atmanufacturers’training classes andon the job.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Control SystemStartup– Safely power up controlsystempanels and networks, confirm proper controller addressing and verify communications to Metasys network. Verify allJCI Metasys controllersandthird-partycommunications (i.e.:Modbus,BACnetIPetc.)toboilers,chillers andmiscellaneousequipmentare functionaland stable.
• Program -Fieldmodifyanddeveloplogical software programs for controls of HVAC systems using JCIMetasyssoftware tools (CCT and SCT) anddownloadinto field controllers and network level controllers.
• Control PointValidation - Complete Point-to-Point checkout of sensors and actuators to confirm and verify the integrity of all installed wiring and field devices.
• Troubleshooting -Work withinstallationcontractor to diagnose and resolve any identified hardware, low voltage wiring and communications issues discovered duringstartup andcheckout.
• Functional Testing/Sequence Validation-Operatethe HVAC system through its full sequence of operations to ensureinstalledprogrammingmeets the required sequence of operations.
• System Commissioning and HVACBalanceAssist - Work withcommissioning agentsandTAB contractorstovalidateHVAC systemoperationsand controls installation/sequencing meets engineered design specifications.
• Punchlist Ownership-Followthroughwith Engineer / Contractor assignedcontrol systempunch listitemsand provide proper resolutionin order tosecure finalsystem acceptance and project turnover to customer.
• Trackworkprogress and communicate daily with the EMC Services Project Manager / Project Engineer asrequiredtoprovide updatesof job.
• Complete all job documentation including commissioning paperwork, as built programchangesand documentanychanges due to field conditions. Supply all the documents to the Project Engineer for proper project closeout.
• Maintaincommunicationsas required with other tradestoprovide for smooth project coordinationand installation.
• Develop andmaintaina positive relationship with customers including end users, property managers, and contractors.
• Adhere to allcompany, federal, state,OSHA,and job specific safety requirements.

Qualifications

Idealcandidatesshallhave experience and skills in the following areas:

• Knowledge of HVAC systems andtheHVAC industry.
• Experience withprogrammingand troubleshootingBAScontrol systems. Minimum 3-5 years’ experience with a similar control company.
• Able to read and interpret HVACengineering /mechanical drawings and control system wiring diagramsand sequence of operations.
• Experience working withBASsystemprogrammingsoftwareprograms.
• Microsoftofficeprogram skills
• Ability to set up IT networks as it relates toBAScontrol system
• Must have valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job site locations throughout Massachusettsand Rhode Island
• Ability totake initiative,workindependentlyand develop good working relationships with internal and external customers.
• Excellent communicationskills (oral and written)
• Be adaptive and flexible with changing workschedules,andbe available forweekendand On-Callfor several weeks throughout the year.
