Hybrid 4 days on site 8-5 in Lake Mary, FL

Our client seeks a Senior Java Lead Developer to design, develop, and support scalable, low-latency, real-time enterprise applications. The role contributes to architecture and engineering of distributed systems and requires strong hands-on Java expertise, enterprise application experience, and a focus on performance at scale.

Rate: $60.00 to $70.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications for critical business functions and high-volume transaction processing.
• Build scalable, distributed applications using Java 17+, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
• Contribute to application architecture and technical design with focus on scalability, resiliency, performance, and maintainability.
• Create, test, and maintain RESTful APIs and inter-process communication services for enterprise integrations.
• Design and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and transaction management using Oracle or similar RDBMS.
• Develop and support low-latency, real-time processing with strong observability, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Implement automated testing with JUnit, Cucumber, or similar frameworks.
• Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, performance tuning, and production support.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, product teams, and stakeholders to align technology solutions with business objectives.
• Leverage emerging technologies, AI-enabled tools, and engineering best practices for continuous improvement.

Experience Requirements:

• 8+ years of software development in enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17+ and modern frameworks.
• Experience with PySpark, Snowflake, or other large-scale data processing technologies.
• Background in distributed systems, enterprise applications, and microservices.
• Proficiency with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and REST API development.
• Experience with SQL, stored procedures, transaction management, and relational databases such as Oracle.
• Understanding of scalable design, observability, monitoring, and real-time processing.
• Automated testing experience with JUnit, Cucumber, or similar.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts and decisions.
• Experience across the full SDLC including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Preferred: Kafka or MQ; cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP; Kubernetes, Docker, and containerization; Linux scripting and automation; familiarity with NoSQL; production support and stability practices; AI-enabled development tools such as Windsurf or OpenSpec; financial services industry experience.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
