This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing, dynamic environmental engineering and consulting firm in our Houston, Texas or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office. The successful candidate will work with multidisciplinary project teams conducting environmental inspections, assessments, sampling, permitting, and other compliance activities.

At EDGE, our goal is to continue to lead the environmental consulting industry by means of growth and innovation and to ensure our clients value our products, services, and relationship as much as we value our talented staff. In order to achieve that goal, we need ambitious professionals, out-of-the box thinkers and life-long learners on our team. To attract and retain these bright individuals, we offer meaningful, challenging work, mentoring, competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package. Perhaps most importantly, we foster an internal culture full of energy, opportunity, and camaraderie in which our employees have the support to thrive.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Collect, organize, and manage large volumes of client data and documentation
Assist in conducting operational site audits
Track progress and completion of audits and follow up corrective actions
Support the preparation and submission of compliance reports (e.g., Annual Waste Summaries, Tier II Reports, TRI Reports, Discharge Monitoring Reports) for numerous clients simultaneously
Assist with the development of SPCC, SWP3, waste management plans, contingency plans, and other environmental plans
Provide technical support on a variety of projects, including assisting with regulatory research, data collection and analysis, and the preparation of various technical documents
Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments
Aid in the modification and renewal of environmental permits, licenses, and plans

REQUIREMENTS

B.S. degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related discipline (M.S. preferred)
0-2 years of experience
Availability to conduct field work and travel up to 50% of the time
Knowledge of federal environmental and safety regulations including RCRA, CERCLA, EPCRA, TSCA, OSHA and various accompanying state-specific regulations (preferred)
Comprehensive knowledge and familiarity with the use of MS Office Suite software programs is necessary
Self-motivated, adaptable, and quick to learn, with a strong work ethic and a practical, common-sense approach

EDGE strives to hire and retain the best and brightest candidates available in the marketplace. To be selected for this position, the candidate must possess exceptional interpersonal skills and outstanding oral and written communication skills allowing positive internal, client, agency and contractor relationships. Excellent technical writing skills for environmental reports are required, as are outstanding problem-solving abilities. The selected candidate will demonstrate passion for the business of environmental consulting, technical excellence and quality, leadership potential, a commitment to lifelong learning and growth, and the desire to build a long and rewarding career with EDGE.
