Echeneidae Inc. dba Remora has an opening for the position of Systems Engineer (Ref# SE1030VG). Work Location: 29834 Beck Rd., Wixom, MI 48393. Job Duties: Support the development and integration of our mobile carbon capture device. Work across mechanical, electrical, chemical, and software teams to help coordinate subsystem design, testing, and integration from early development through production. Assist with system architecture, interface management, validation activities, and cross-functional collaboration to help ensure reliable system performance and successful project execution. Participate in the development of system architecture, documentation (including P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams), and interface control documents), and performance models for Remora's carbon capture system. Define system requirements and ensure alignment with performance, compliance, cost, and manufacturability targets. Drive integration across mechanical, electrical, chemical, and controls engineering teams. Manage subsystem interfaces, troubleshoot integration challenges, and support prototype development. Coordinate cross-functional engineering efforts and technical design reviews. Oversee system testing, validation, and verification activities, including test planning and acceptance criteria. Optimize system performance through iterative prototyping and real-world operational feedback. Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to improve system capability and scalability. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign academic equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation including Mechanical Engineer, Product Engineer, or related experience. Position requires 2 years of experience with the following skills/technologies: integrated system development; developing & executing system-level testing & validation plans; PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams) generation; compliance documentation; process design & optimization; and working with cross-functional teams in an R&D environment. 40hrs/week.
