About the team and the role eBay’s Compliance organization address key regulatory, compliance, and operational requirements impacting eBay’s platform, customer and seller experiences, and business operations.
The team works closely with partners across Product, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Trust, Operations, Customer Support, Analytics, and Finance, to deliver solutions that balance regulatory obligations, customer and seller experience, and operational scalability.
The impact of this work is significant, helping eBay strengthen compliant operations, reduce risk, and scale sustainably in an increasingly complex and evolving regulatory environment!
We’re looking for a Manager, Compliance Strategy & Operations to support key vertical functions within eBay’s compliance portfolio. Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Operations, you will join a team of managers who each serve as the primary operations support resource for specific vertical leaders.
This role sits at the intersection of planning, operations, and cross-functional coordination. You will support the operating mechanisms that enable the organization to track priorities, coordinate across teams, follow up on action items, and maintain operational visibility for team leads.
The role requires structured thinking and diligent execution. You will assist with planning cycles, day-to-day operational task tracking, cross-functional coordination, and routine reporting.
Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, adaptability, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to turn guidance into clean, actionable follow-through.
What you’ll do
- Provide operational support for assigned vertical compliance teams, assisting with day-to-day vertical operations, vendor tracking, invoice processing, and purchase order management.
- Partner across Compliance, Finance, Analytics, and regional teams to ensure key compliance priorities, dependencies, and decisions are reflected in broader business plans and roadmaps.
- Consolidate vertical financial data, vendor expenses, and resource tracking inputs into regular team budget reports and operational updates.
- Support annual and quarterly planning cycles for vertical functions by organizing schedules, populating standardized cross-vertical templates, and gathering inputs.
- Log and track key risks, action items, dependencies, and operational gaps across initiatives, helping follow up with owners to ensure timely resolution.
- Help identify routine process improvements, maintain documentation and playbooks, and utilize modern digital and AI productivity tools to boost daily efficiency.
- Support efforts to improve internal enablement, especially where compliance requirements need to be clearer, more scalable, and easier to operationalize.
What you’ll bring
- 3-5+ years of experience in business operations, compliance operations, project coordination, or a related individual contributor role, ideally within technology, e-commerce, or marketplaces.
- Hands-on experience supporting operational workflows or project tracking, with strong attention to detail and organized execution.
- Solid foundational skills in operational tracking, template management, financial data logging, and regular status reporting.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to organize data and flag issues or discrepancies effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate across cross-functional team members and track down required inputs.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, particularly the ability to translate complex topics into clear, concise updates and recommendations.
- Ability to work effectively on task execution while understanding the larger operational context and priorities.
- Familiarity with automation and AI tools, and a demonstrated ability to use technology to improve operational efficiency, visibility, and decision-making.
