Do you want work that makes a meaningful difference in your community? Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Recreation & Wellness Supervisor to join our team at New Bern EMPOWER Program.
As a Recreation & Wellness Supervisor, you'll bring energy, creativity, and leadership to programs that enrich the lives of the members we support. From planning exciting activities and wellness initiatives to leading a team of dedicated direct support professionals, you'll help create meaningful experiences, encourage community involvement, and make every day engaging and enjoyable. If you love motivating others, thinking outside the box, and making a positive impact, this role is for you!
What You’ll Do .
- Ensure groups and programs are developed and executed with consideration to participant needs, interests, and abilities.
- Review participant files and engage with participants in order to fully understand individual's capabilities and appropriate staff assignments.
- Assist in the recruitment of Direct Support staff including interviews, job shadowing, and hiring process.
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who brings the experience, skills, and commitment needed to succeed in this role.
- Two (2) years of supervisor experience overseeing staff and implementation of activities within the program
- Bachelor's degree in recreation, special education, or related human service field preferred.
- 2 years’ experience with developmental disabilities and mental health populations preferred
- Valid driver's license, good driving record and current auto insurance
