About the Company
Eagle Hill is a nationally recognized, award-winning consulting firm, based in the Washington, DC area. We pride ourselves on our unconventional approach to solving business challenges, with a focus on delivering value above expectations. Our collective of talented consultants encourages each other to bring their unique perspectives and experiences to deliver impact-focused solutions for our clients. The result is a working environment that encourages bold thinking, collaboration and delivering client-centered solutions.
Job Description
Eagle Hill is seeking candidates to fill current and potential data analytics and business intelligence roles for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) client projects. These projects will provide analytical, strategic, and operational support to enable CBP offices to use data more effectively, modernize operations, improve business processes, and strengthen mission delivery. Applicants must be willing and able to work on client sites within the Washington, DC metro area on a daily basis or as required by the client.
Anticipated project work may include data analytics and visualization, performance measurement, process improvement, business intelligence, and technology-enabled problem solving to help clients translate data and complex information into practical insights and solutions. Opportunities are available at the Senior Associate level based on project needs and a candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Ideally, candidates will bring both strong consulting capabilities and meaningful, hands-on data analytics and business intelligence experience. We also recognize that candidates may have developed greater depth in one area while building substantive, applied experience in the other.
This is neither a general project management role with limited technology exposure nor a purely technical role with limited responsibility for business outcomes.
Applicants must be willing and able to work on client sites within the Washington, DC metro area on a daily basis or as required by the client.
About the Opportunity
At Eagle Hill, Senior Associates develop firsthand knowledge of our clients, their operating environments, and their business challenges and use that understanding to contribute to analysis, solutions, and client deliverables. Senior Associates are expected to independently own and advance workstreams or significant deliverables, working directly with client stakeholders and collaborating with team members to drive high-quality outcomes. They may also contribute to broader account or Eagle Hill initiatives and business development activities.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will vary based on project needs and may include:
- Partnering with stakeholders, data owners, and subject-matter experts to understand business challenges and translate them into analytical approaches, data requirements, dashboards, reports, workflows, or other technology-enabled solutions
- Using Power BI, Tableau, or comparable business intelligence tools to develop, enhance, maintain, and troubleshoot dashboards, visualizations, reports, and data products
- Integrating and analyzing data from multiple sources and identifying issues related to data quality, functionality, usability, or alignment with business needs
- Developing metrics and KPIs and translating analytical findings into clear insights and practical recommendations for client and executive audiences
- Assessing business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting the design and implementation of future-state solutions
- Structuring ambiguous problems and advancing project work, analyses, and client deliverables
- Conducting stakeholder interviews, facilitating working sessions, and developing high-quality presentations, reports, recommendations, and implementation plans for technical and nontechnical audiences
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of four years of relevant professional experience, along with demonstrated experience independently owning and advancing project-based workstreams or significant deliverables
- Hands-on experience with data analytics and visualization, including Power BI, Tableau, or comparable business intelligence tools
- Experience developing, enhancing, or troubleshooting dashboards and data solutions, including working with data from multiple sources
- Experience with workflow automation and technology-enabled process improvement
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to structure ambiguous problems and translate analysis into practical insights and recommendations
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to establish credibility and work effectively with technical and nontechnical audiences
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information clearly and develop high-quality, audience-appropriate deliverables
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgment, take initiative, and collaborate effectively with others
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Must be willing and able to work at client sites within the Washington, DC metropolitan area daily or as otherwise required by the client
- Ability to successfully obtain and retain a CBP Background Investigation (BI), as well as any other background investigations required to perform client work
Required Experience
- Experience that combines consulting-oriented problem solving and client or stakeholder engagement with applied data analytics, business intelligence, or technology capabilities
- Candidates with greater depth in one area may also qualify by demonstrating substantive experience in the other:
- Consulting or professional services backgrounds: Meaningful, hands-on involvement in developing, analyzing, or improving data or technology-enabled solutions. Project management or oversight of technology initiatives without substantive personal involvement in the underlying solution is not sufficient
- Data analytics or business intelligence backgrounds: Experience applying technical expertise to business problems in a consultative, stakeholder-facing environment. Technical execution against established requirements without meaningful responsibility for problem definition, business interpretation, stakeholder engagement, or solution outcomes is not sufficient
Additional Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal government clients
- Power Query, DAX, data modeling, SQL, Python, or similar technologies
- Active CBP BI or CBP BI held within the last two years
- Microsoft Power Platform experience requires:
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate, with strong proficiency in at least one and practical development experience across all three
- Dashboard, business application, and automated workflow development, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Lists, Dataverse, or other data-source integrations
Compensation
A reasonable expectation for a starting salary range is: $81-$95K. This range is based on the Washington, DC Metro area and varies based on geographic residence. Specific salary range will be based on experience, location, and the level at which an applicant is hired.
Benefits
