Summary E-INFOSOL LLC is seeking a motivated and results-driven Cloud Developer to be a full-time employee in Washington, DC to join our innovative and customer solutions focused team. The ideal candidate is a seasoned AWS developer who will own key parts of the existing AWS environment. They will also work with a cross-functional team to introduce and establish Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as a new platform within a federal environment.
Position Overview The Cloud Developer has two main responsibilities. First, they own the design, development, and operation of key AWS services and workloads. Second, they contribute hands-on to a team effort to stand up GCP for the organization, building the foundation (landing zone, resource hierarchy, identity, networking, security guardrails) so GCP is secure, compliant, and ready for mission workloads. The role suits a strong builder who can own production systems, collaborate well on a platform build, and explain technical tradeoffs clearly to government and technical leadership.
- AWS Ownership
- Own the design, development, deployment, and day-to-day health of assigned AWS applications, services, and infrastructure.
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred; CloudFormation/CDK a plus) for repeatable, auditable AWS environments.
- Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines that build security scanning, testing, and compliance checks into delivery (DevSecOps).
- Implement and maintain zero-trust security controls, including IAM, network segmentation, encryption, and continuous monitoring.
- Design for high availability, disaster recovery, and fault tolerance that meet defined uptime and recovery objectives.
- Analyze AWS spend and put cost optimization in place (right-sizing, reserved capacity/Savings Plans, autoscaling, lifecycle policies).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the stack, from application code through networking, IAM, and managed services.
- GCP Establishment
- Work with the cloud team to design and build the organization's GCP landing zone, including the organization/folder/project hierarchy, billing structure, and baseline configuration.
- Implement GCP foundational services as assigned: Cloud IAM and identity federation, Shared VPC and network architecture, organization policies, logging and monitoring, and Security Command Center.
- Develop reusable Terraform modules and project templates for consistent GCP provisioning.
- Bring lessons from the AWS environment to GCP to shape security guardrails, tagging/labeling standards, and governance.
- Help define processes for onboarding new projects and teams onto GCP.
- Cross-Cutting
- Document architectures, patterns, and runbooks across both platforms.
- Present technical recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Active Top-Secret clearance with capability to obtain SCI/CI Poly if needed to meet contract requirements.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of software or cloud engineering experience, including at least 5 years of hands-on experience supporting AWS production workloads.
- Deep, hands-on expertise with core AWS services, such as EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and KMS.
- 1–2 years of hands-on GCP experience, including direct involvement in building or configuring foundational components: resource hierarchy, Cloud IAM, VPC/Shared VPC networking, and organization policies
- Strong experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline).
- Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures.
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language used for cloud automation (Python preferred; Bash, PowerShell, Go, or Java also valued).
- Working knowledge of zero-trust principles, network security, and cloud-native security tooling (e.g., AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, Google Security Command Center).
- Proven delivery of large-scale cloud infrastructure or platform builds.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn business requirements into technical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certification (e.g., Solutions Architect – Professional, Developer – Associate, or DevOps Engineer – Professional).
- Google Cloud certification (Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Developer, or Professional Cloud Architect).
- Experience with AWS EKS in production.
- Experience standing up a new cloud environment or landing zone (GCP Cloud Foundation Toolkit/Fabric FAST, AWS Control Tower/Landing Zone Accelerator, or similar).
- Experience in federal environments: AWS GovCloud, GCP Assured Workloads, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, or ATO support.
- Experience designing hybrid or multi-cloud architectures, including cross-cloud networking and identity federation.
- Experience developing cloud governance frameworks and security policies.
