Anticipated Vacancy:
Student Worker - Hourly
LOCATION(S): Various
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
This is usually part-time work to provide extra help for administrators, teachers and other staff. Incumbents of positions in this class are students. Assignments are performed under direct supervision of higher-level employees.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
- May perform laboring tasks;
- May assist custodial staff by doing routine cleaning duties;
- May assist groundskeeping staff in care of fields and school grounds;
- May assist maintenance staff as assigned;
- May operate office equipment such as copying machines;
- May do simple filing;
- May shelve library books;
- May assist in recreation activities;
- Does related work as required.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to follow oral and written directions; ability to learn quickly; ability to work well with others; courtesy; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
