The Impact you will have in this role

The Senior Associate, Portfolio Management supports the enterprise “front door” advisory model through portfolio analysis, planning coordination, prioritization support and value realization tracking. Working with Portfolio Management leadership and partners across Business, Technology, Finance and Risk, this individual contributor independently manages assigned analyses and deliverables within established processes, validates portfolio information and prepares insights that support investment decisions.

The Senior Associate helps maintain portfolio health visibility, monitors risks, dependencies and expected benefits, and escalates issues requiring leadership attention. The role contributes to execution discipline and informed decisions on funding, capacity, risk and value without responsibility for managing a team or approving enterprise investment priorities.

  • Specific Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned portfolio deliverables and analyses, coordinate stakeholder inputs, track commitments and escalate obstacles to timely completion.
  • Support portfolio intake and front-door advisory activities by gathering information, checking submission completeness and coordinating reviews using established criteria and processes.
  • Analyze initiative alignment to enterprise strategy, business priorities, risk appetite, capacity and financial objectives, documenting gaps and findings for review.
  • Monitor assigned portfolio information, including milestones, expected benefits, delivery risks and business outcomes; follow up with initiative owners and escalate variances or data gaps.
  • Coordinate assigned annual planning activities, consolidate demand, funding and resource capacity inputs, and prepare analyses and materials for prioritization and leadership reviews.
  • Support recurring portfolio reviews by preparing agendas and reporting, documenting risks, issues, dependencies and decision needs, and tracking actions through closure.
  • Maintain portfolio dashboards and established KPI and OKR measures, validate underlying data, track value realization and identify trends requiring further analysis or attention.
  • Perform investment and scenario analyses using established criteria across strategy, value, risk, capacity and funding; summarize trade-offs and draft recommendations for leadership review.
  • Review plans, business case assumptions, risk updates and portfolio forecasts for completeness and consistency; raise questions and coordinate resolution of discrepancies with relevant owners.
  • Collaborate with Business, Technology, Finance, Risk and delivery teams to gather and reconcile portfolio inputs, prepare clear decision-support materials and identify practical improvements to reporting and coordination.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in portfolio management, PMO/EPMO, business management, strategy execution, investment planning or a related discipline, including experience performing analysis, coordinating cross-functional inputs and independently delivering assigned work.
  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.

Specific Qualifications

  • Experience supporting portfolio or initiative analysis across operational ("Run"), business growth ("Grow"), or strategic transformation ("Transform") initiatives, with an understanding of strategic alignment, investment priorities, risk and value realization.
  • Ability to organize and independently complete assigned work, manage competing deadlines and coordinate contributions from stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Working knowledge of portfolio planning, prioritization, annual planning, intake and demand management, with experience supporting planning cycles or portfolio reviews.
  • Ability to relate initiative objectives, funding, capacity, risks and expected outcomes, and organize relevant information into clear analyses for decision support.
  • Working knowledge of business cases, benefits realization, KPI/OKR tracking, ROI/NPV concepts and resource, demand and capacity management; ability to apply established methods to validate inputs and support analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize findings, prepare concise presentations, facilitate working discussions and follow up on actions.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to reconcile portfolio data, identify trends and inconsistencies, ask constructive questions and develop evidence-based findings and draft recommendations.
  • Experience collaborating across business, technology, finance, risk or delivery teams; familiarity with regulated environments and the importance of accurate reporting, documented controls and timely escalation.
  • Professional certification, certification in progress, or relevant coursework or formal studies in portfolio management, program management, project management, Agile delivery, business analysis or a related discipline preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools; experience with project or portfolio management tools such as Planview preferred.
