The Drexel Way:We don’t just sell lumber; we Supply. Happiness. Drexel is Team Member-owned and community-driven. With six retail hubs and three manufacturing plants across Wisconsin, we’ve been a Top Workplace every year since 2011. Why? Because we hire for heart and train for skill. When you join Team Blue, you aren't just a team member - you’re an owner.

The Mission:The Pricing Planning Intern is an eager learner and detail-oriented contributor supporting accuracy, pricing precision, and estimating workflow execution. Active in the daily details of basic takeoff calculations and quote preparation, you bring a positive, winning attitude to every task. By learning millwork products, product applications, and vendor capabilities, you assist the team in ensuring project pricing is prompt and accurate - helping protect margins while developing into a reliable technical support partner to Quarterbacks, Production Planners, and Buyers.

About the Internship:

  • Schedule & Hours: In-person internship running 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
  • Timeline: Begins May 2026 and concludes August 2026.
  • SHU Day & Kickoff Location: The first day of the internship, Supply Happiness University (SHU), takes place at Drexel Building Supply in Campbellsport (110 E Main St., Campbellsport, WI). (Note: Transportation for SHU day is not provided and must be arranged by the intern.)
  • Summer Placement & Travel: Interns report to their designated hub with regional travel across Wisconsin for event coordination, jobsite tour leadership, and client activations.

Defining the Role:

  • Blueprint & Takeoff Fundamentals: Learn to read architectural plans and specifications; assist with extracting material quantities from residential, commercial, and LSP blueprints under the guidance of experienced planners.
  • Pricing & Quoting Support: Assist in building standard and basic custom quotes using internal Millwork Tools
  • ERP & Tool Exposure: Gain hands-on experience utilizing our ERP system, Google Suite, and department quoting tools to log, manage, and update quote and takeoff requests.
  • Quality Control & Review Participation: Submit completed takeoff exercises and draft quotes for peer review, actively incorporating feedback to master technical specifications and estimating standards.
  • Cross-Functional Learning & Collaboration: Shadow interactions with Quarterbacks on account-specific requirements, and participate actively in daily team huddles and departmental tacticals.
  • Process Documentation & Continuous Improvement: Assist in reviewing, organizing, and updating department SOPs

What Success Looks Like:

  • Estimating & Quoting Accuracy: Demonstrating steady progress toward high accuracy on assigned takeoffs and draft quotes while building proficiency across millwork estimating tools.
  • Turnaround & Deadline Management: Delivering assigned takeoff segments and quote drafts within established timelines and project milestones.
  • Learning Agility & Feedback Integration: Actively applying coaching notes from reviews, showing measurable week-over-week skill growth, and contributing to SOP documentation efforts.
  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Bringing positive energy, proactive communication, and dependable support to daily collaborations with QBs, Production Planners, Buyers, and Category Managers.

The Drexel Advantage:

  • The Wealth-Builder (Ownership): Gain hands-on exposure to a Team Member-owned ESOP culture where everyone wins together.
  • Professional Growth: Hands-on ownership managing major sports partnerships, end-to-end event logistics, and brand campaigns alongside corporate leaders.
  • Team Blue Culture: A fun, supportive work environment recognized as a Wisconsin Top Workplace every year since 2011!
  • Clothing Discount: Drexel covers 50% of your apparel items ordered through the Drexel team clothing site.
