Job Description

At DPR, roles and responsibilities are more than describing a job title - they are a commitment to building great things together. The job description(s) below defines core responsibilities and the scope of the role and is a starting point. Every employee is expected to lead from where they are, take ownership of outcomes, and always act in the best interest of the team, customer, project and organization.

As a purpose-driven organization on a journey to be most admired, we rely on trust, shared leadership, open communication, disciplined action and a deep respect for the individual to drive exceptional performance. Success is not just about what we build, but who we build and how we build it: with integrity, enjoyment, uniqueness and an ever-forward mindset.

Job Summary:

Manages and develops the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) function on project(s) to drive cross-functional performance and achieve strategic objectives. Partners with project leadership to align EHS strategies with long-term organizational goals. Oversees the development and integration of comprehensive and complex EHS programs based on project-level standards and initiatives. Shapes organizational culture by modeling proactive leadership, managing and coaching EHS professionals, and supporting enterprise-wide engagement in EHS initiatives. Drives EHS-related compliance, consistency, and continuous improvement across projects by leveraging data, emerging technologies, and industry trends.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversees the EHS function and individuals on the project to drive excellence in performance and talent development across functions with significant influence. Directs teams in interpreting and applying complex regulatory EHS requirements and industry standards. Leads project-level strategic planning for risk management, crisis response, and compliance initiatives related to EHS programs and processes. Integrates advanced project-level analytics, initiatives, and new technologies to optimize EHS program outcomes. Partners with project-level leadership to set vision, goals, and performance expectations for EHS stewardship. Communicates key, large-impact initiatives and results to leadership, ensuring alignment and engagement. Leads accident, injury, crisis management on the project(s) and communicates root cause and lesson learned out to company.

Education Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or associates degree in environmental science, occupational health, safety management, a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.

Work Experience:

7 years of experience in EHS roles within industrial, manufacturing, construction, or a related field required. 2 - 4 years of experience in a managerial capacity required.

Certifications and Licenses:

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-Hour Construction training required. First Aid (FA) certification, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification, or Naloxone Administration (Narcan) certification preferred. Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification preferred. OSHA Course 500 training required. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred.
