System Analyst

Description The Dougherty County Jail is hiring for a System Analyst. The purpose of this position is to install, test, and maintain software and equipment; set and maintain security levels of operation, and ensure the computer, system applications, and telephone systems operate properly and efficiently. This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.

Essential Tasks

• Monitors and maintains systems to ensure system integrity and security, which includes duplicating and backing up data, managing user accounts and authorizations, and maintaining software security.
• Provides technical end-user support, including researching user complaints, researching issues, answering technical questions, and assisting with application revisions.
• Upgrades firmware, software, and outdated hardware systems.
• Creates user documents and provides training on new computer systems.
• Diagnoses and troubleshoots computer issues.
• Resets Inmates’ Pin numbers and Officers’ passwords.
• Monitors Security System.
• Performs related work as assigned.

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in computer systems, Information Technology or related major.
• Two (2) years of computer network experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Supplemental Information Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.

• Perform sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 to 35 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations. Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment): Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.

• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
