About the role

As the Quality Engineering Manager at Double E’s West Bridgewater facility, you will be the hands-on owner of the quality process for our high-mix, low-volume onsite production. You will lead quality from print and contract review through incoming, in-process, and final inspection, shipment, and customer follow-up for custom engineered and machined components.

This is a working manager role for someone who is comfortable on the shop floor and personally drives root cause analysis and corrective action. You will partner closely with Engineering, Production, Procurement, suppliers, and customers to contain issues, eliminate recurrence, strengthen vendor quality, and keep make-to-order work moving.

Requirements

What you’ll own and do

  • Own and continuously improve the site quality management process from print review and supplier receipt through production, final inspection, shipment, and customer response.
  • Lead hands on containment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and effectiveness of verification for internal defects, nonconforming material, scrap, rework, returns, and customer complaints.
  • Facilitate practical problem solving ideally using the Pareto analysis, or other preferred methods.
  • Partner with Procurement to resolve incoming and vendor-related issues.
  • Work directly with Engineering, Production, Planning, and Inspection to review drawings, GD&T, specifications, routings, BOMs, revisions, inspection plans, and process risks before problems reach the floor or customer.
  • Maintain clear quality procedures and conduct training that fits our fast-moving environment.
  • Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and technical support to quality and inspection resources while remaining personally engaged in urgent and complex quality issues.

About you

You are a hands-on quality leader who can move easily between the shop floor, technical documentation, supplier conversations, and customer-facing problem solving. You set clear expectations, follow issues through closure, and build practical systems that people use.

  • 5+ years of progressive quality engineering experience in machining, metal fabrication, engineered components, including experience leading the quality processes.
  • Demonstrated ownership of hands-on RCA and corrective action operations.
  • Experience working with Procurement and suppliers on incoming quality, supplier corrective actions, performance improvement, and issue escalation.
  • Experience managing nonconforming material, MRB, scrap, rework, customer complaints, CAPA, and quality records in a make-to-order environment.
  • Ability to create actionable, real-time quality reporting using trend, Pareto, status, and accountability views that drive measurable improvement.
  • Working knowledge of ERP-based research involving routings, inventory, work orders, BOMs, part history, NCRs, RMAs, inspection records, and supplier data; InforVisual experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the judgment to manage competing priorities.

Bonus Points For

  • ISO 9001 leadership, internal auditing, lean, Six Sigma, ASQ certification, or formal problem-solving training.
  • Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar 2D/3D CAD experience.
  • Background in web handling, converting, packaging, rollers, shafts, chucks, safety chucks, or related equipment.

Double E offers a competitive total rewards package and is looking for folks who want to build this next phase of transformation with the support of a long history of stability and innovation.

Double E is committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills, because the more inclusive we are, the better our work will be. Do you feel like your skills don’t meet every single requirement listed? We encourage you to apply anyway – If you’re excited about what we’re doing we’d love to hear from you!
