Original job description

Forward Deployment Engineer/ Chief Technology Officer Role Type: Full-Time / Founding Leadership 40hrs/week day shift Experience: 20 + years Salary: Salary negotiable To apply for this position, please send your resume to hello@dolgo.ai Company Overview DOLGO's mission is to preserve the mission-critical expertise that keeps maritime operational through a technology-, data-, and human-centered approach. We are a Synthetic Anthropology business which, in simple terms, is the study of sociology with artificial intelligence and computational modeling The Role A deeply hybrid role at the intersection of advanced systems engineering, applied mathematics, and ethnographic field research. 1. You will not just sit behind a desk designing API-driven backend architectures and BAST-integrated ontologies. 2. You will be on the ground in shipyards, workboats, and ports, deploying the platform and working directly with the maritime workforce. 3. You will bridge the complex social data of maritime environments and the mathematical rigor of domain-driven knowledge graphs. Output from the role 1. Map the cultural nuances of using social science, model those interactions using complexity science, and build the software architecture that turns those models into an adaptive decision-support system. 2. Workflow integration mechanics that naturally encourage adoption without disrupting existing protocols. 3. Features that map cross-industry competency (e.g., diesel-to-electric transitions) and reduce single-point-of-failure risk in workforce capabilities. This role requires a rare synthesis of three distinct disciplines: 1. Social Sciences Anthropology/Sociology): Practical experience in qualitative research methods, ethnography, or organizational psychology. You know how to observe, interview, and build trust with specialized operators (like marine engineers) to understand how tacit knowledge is built and shared organically. 2. Applied Mathematics and System Architecture: Deep expertise in mathematics underlying neural networks, knowledge graphs, and unstructured data ingestion. 3. Complexity Science: Understand network effects, non-linear system dynamics, and how to map operational dependencies within a multi-tiered industrial base.
