About the Opportunity

DMI, LLC is seeking a Systems Network Administrator Lead to join us. The Systems/Network Administrator Lead owns systems and network administration, operations, and maintenance for platforms installed across a nationwide DoD enterprise. This person makes sure the enterprise meets defined service levels, serves as DMI's service owner for service solutions, and plans and organizes the contractor team for all operations and maintenance of customer-built networks.

The role also leads the Outage Response Team, which provides 24/7/365 coverage, virtually or on site at headquarters and field locations. During an outage, the Lead is the primary point of contact for all resolution activity: directing the team, owning the fix, speaking to other agencies and vendors on the customer's behalf, and keeping customer leadership informed. That responsibility extends to continuity of operations (COOP) and disaster recovery, and the Lead keeps the Incident Response Plan current through quarterly reviews.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead systems and network administration, operations, and maintenance for platforms across the enterprise, and serve as DMI's service owner for service solutions.
  • Ensure enterprise operations meet defined service levels.
  • Apply security principles, practices, and procedures under the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to maintain compliance with security regulations.
  • Support engineering development, integration, interface design analysis, infrastructure integration, and hardware and software testing.
  • Perform system-level product configuration, validating integration of hardware, software, operating systems, and other platform specifications while keeping interoperability with legacy systems.
  • Plan and organize the contractor team for all operations and maintenance of customer-built networks.
  • Lead and direct the 24/7/365 Outage Response Team and oversee all network outage response and recovery, including COOP and disaster recovery.
  • Act as primary point of contact during outages, communicate with outside agencies and vendors on the customer's behalf, and brief customer leadership on outage status.
  • Develop and maintain outage response procedures and keep the team ready to respond.
  • Create and maintain the Incident Response Plan, review it quarterly for accurate system names and procedures, and ensure all outage response activity is documented.

Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience:

  • Holds the certifications DoDM 8140.03 (the DoD Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program) requires for the assigned work role, such as CompTIA Security+ CE.
  • ITIL v4 Practice Manager certification, or ITIL v4 Foundation certification or higher.
  • At least three years within the past five years working with IPv4 or IPv6 protocol stacks. This also meets the desired item of three years within the past ten.
  • Available to start on the Project Start Date and willing to sign a Letter of Commitment
  • At least five years within the past ten years managing enterprise IT teams in geographically separated locations that support operation and maintenance of physical and virtual servers, Windows and UNIX/Linux, Microsoft and SQL databases, SharePoint, VMware ESXi, software applications, scripting, storage area networks and computer security.
  • At least one year within the past ten years leading network personnel and coordinating outage response procedures.
  • At least five years within the past ten years working with cloud-based solutions or virtual desktop enterprise environments.
  • At least five years within the past ten years in network or system administration, including outage response and incident management.
  • At least one year within the past ten years working with DISA network transport solutions or comparable large-scale enterprise, federal or mission networks.
  • At least six years within the past fifteen years supporting global network systems and subsystems, troubleshooting LAN, MPLS, BGP and WAN issues and network and service availability, and recommending fixes and enhancements.
  • At least three years within the past ten years planning and executing local and long-haul communications.
  • At least three years within the past ten years supporting and troubleshooting firewall appliances, rulesets and firewall solutions.
