Registered Nurse, Pediatrics (Part-Time)

• Approved Salary: $36-$45/hr
• Schedule: Part-time position - 15-22.5 hours per week. Weekends and evenings may be required, based on clinic needs.

Summary/Objective

The Dimock Center Pediatric Clinic is seeking a part-time Pediatric Nurse to join its team. The clinic values teamwork, respect, and maintaining a positive work environment. Serving the diverse community in and around the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, the successful candidate will be committed to caring for patients in a community health center setting and working in a team-based environment to provide comprehensive, high-quality care to patients from newborn to young adult.

Essential Functions

• Work with other team members to promote an efficient clinic workflow.
• Provide immunizations, medications, and basic first aid to patients.
• Understand supportive care for childhood diseases and advise caregivers on how to comfort children.
• Conduct phone triage of patient calls; understand which conditions require home care, clinic care, or emergent care.
• Assist with monitoring clinic inventory and maintaining all materials and equipment to proper standards.
• Assist with preparing paperwork for families and helping them navigate logistical questions and issues.
• Promote healthy habits and provide insight for preventive care.
• Assist with care coordination for patients with complex medical issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs., with frequent carrying of up to 25 lbs. Frequent walking, standing, and sitting are required.

Required Education and Experience

• License / Associate's Degree in Nursing or related field required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
