Reporting to the VP of Strategy and working in close partnership with the Practice Executive, the Account Strategy Director owns the long-term growth, retention, and profitability of a select group of DI's most important corporate accounts and strategic enterprise partners. Rather than managing a high volume of transactional clients, this role goes deep: staying embedded in each client's business, anticipating their needs, and proactively identifying new opportunities that drive revenue growth for both the client and DI. This position requires a confident, commercially minded leader with deep client-facing experience and a strong work ethic who can balance multiple priorities in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication, sound business judgment, and the ability to work cross-functionally with our Sales, Design, Technology, Fabrication, and Installation teams across multiple locations are a must.

- Builds and maintains a strategic account plan for each client, including growth goals, relationship maps, opportunity pipeline, and forecast.
- Partners with the Strategy, Sales, and account leadership to lead strategy for expansion pitches, proposals, and RFP responses within assigned accounts that showcase differentiated value. The Practice Executive & DI leadership owns go/no-go decisions, pricing approval, and new-client pursuits.
- Stays embedded in each assigned client's business, knowledgeable and conversant in their key issues, organizational priorities, competitive situation, and how industry trends affect that client.
- Serves as the primary day-to-day point of contact and relationship owner for assigned accounts. Builds and maintains trusted relationships with senior and executive-level client stakeholders, acting as a strategic advisor and advocate for their business.
- Expands DI's relationships across each assigned client organization, establishing new contacts, divisions, and decision-makers.
- Advocates for the client inside DI and for DI with the client, escalating trade-offs on margin, scope, or capacity to the Practice Executive.
- Serves as lead strategist for each assigned account/project, owning the experience strategy and creative brief by uncovering insights and business opportunities that inspire creative and experiential outcomes.
- Guides project strategy from brief through installation, keeping design and production decisions aligned with client objectives, and defines success metrics to measure impact and inform future opportunities. Project Managers and Creative Producers own schedule and delivery.
- Leads the synthesis of market research, stakeholder interviews, consumer data, and trend analysis to develop actionable insights.
- Translates client goals and challenges into compelling, insight-driven strategic briefs, frameworks, positioning strategies, personas, and journey maps.
- Ensures seamless integration of strategy across creative, account, and business development teams, and facilitates ideation and co-creation sessions.
- Presents strategic narratives and recommendations through persuasive storytelling to client executives.
- Owns account SOWs and change orders and monitors account budget health to protect margin within the margin guidelines set.
- Tracks and reports account health, including revenue, pipeline, profitability, and client satisfaction, to the Practice Executive and VP of Strategy.
- Anticipates and addresses potential client relationship or revenue issues, advising DI leadership early enough to act proactively.
- Guides and mentors strategists assigned to their accounts, and contributes to the growth of the Strategy team and its tools.
