Programmatic Optimization, Media Trader

Who We Are:

Delve Deeper is a performance media agency dedicated to helping clients grow their customer base by integrating the power of tech and data into media. We operate as one high-functioning team, driven by our professional “Fire in the Belly,” and a shared passion for delivering exceptional value. Our focus: delighting clients and creating an engaging, growth-focused environment for our team.

We offer services across digital marketing management, first-party data science and consulting, and adtech/martech systems integration and reselling - at a global scale. Our strength lies in connecting the dots between data, technology, and media. We help our clients identify their superfans, deterministically find more of them, and convert them online in the most efficient way possible.

Delve Deeper has been recognized as one of Built In Colorado’s “Best Places to Work” for four consecutive years. Our culture emphasizes continuous professional development, meaningful impact, and a strong commitment to supporting our team - through self-care, family, community, and career growth. As a privately owned company, we move quickly and purposefully, avoiding red tape and paving a clear path for passionate professionals.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for a highly analytical, hands-on programmatic trader with a strong focus on optimization. You’ll spend your time in the platforms and in the data: monitoring campaigns, finding what is driving results, and making changes that improve performance.

You’ll work closely with a Programmatic Strategist, who sets the broader direction and works with the client. Your focus is on campaign execution, analysis, testing, and translating performance data into clear recommendations for the Strategist. This is not a client relationship management role.

The right person is curious about what sits behind the numbers. You know platform reporting is only part of the picture, and you’re comfortable using raw data and spreadsheets to understand performance more fully.

Location: Louisville, Colorado; candidates based outside Colorado will also be considered

Here’s What You’ll Do:

Optimize and Trade Programmatic Media

  • Manage day-to-day campaign execution and optimization across programmatic platforms.
  • Apply the Start / Stop / Scale approach: stop tactics that are not contributing to meaningful results, scale those that are, and launch new tests based on clear hypotheses.
  • Adjust campaign settings, bids, budgets, frequency, placements, and other controls to improve performance and manage delivery.
  • Identify and address low-quality inventory, inefficient spend, and tactics that produce inexpensive but low-value conversions.
  • Monitor pacing and budgets closely, making timely adjustments to support campaign goals.

Build and Evaluate Tests

  • Set up and manage tests across audiences, creative, inventory, and other campaign variables.
  • Use campaign results to understand which audiences and messages are generating meaningful engagement and donor actions.
  • Look beyond demographic assumptions to identify behavioral signals that can inform audience strategy.
  • Keep campaign structures and naming conventions organized so results can be reviewed and compared accurately.

Find the Full Performance Picture

  • Export and analyze campaign data, then compare platform results with available client CRM and backend data.
  • Use Excel to organize, join, and assess data so the team can better understand donor quality, recurring donor retention, and predicted lifetime value (pLTV).
  • Investigate when platform metrics and backend outcomes do not tell the same story.
  • Look beyond front-end metrics like impressions, clicks, and platform-reported conversions to understand whether campaigns are contributing to qualified, incremental donors and long-term value.
  • Maintain accurate campaign records and check your work carefully.

Give the Strategist Clear, Useful Insights

  • Explain what is driving changes in performance, including increases in costs such as Cost per New Sustainer.
  • Share concise findings and recommended actions with the Programmatic Strategist, including the tradeoffs behind optimization decisions.
  • Provide the context the Strategist needs to communicate campaign decisions and results to clients.
  • Flag risks, unusual results, and opportunities early.

Here’s What You Bring:

  • Hands-on experience managing and optimizing programmatic campaigns.
  • Experience with one or more programmatic platforms, such as DV360, The Trade Desk, or Amazon DSP.
  • Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups such as VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP, nested formulas, and data cleanup or reshaping.
  • The ability to analyze detailed performance data and explain what it means in practical terms.
  • A careful, detail-oriented approach to campaign setup, pacing, naming conventions, and quality assurance.
  • Curiosity and persistence when results do not make sense; you’re willing to dig into the data before drawing a conclusion.
  • Comfort working behind the scenes and partnering closely with a Strategist rather than owning client relationships.
  • An interest in nonprofit or mission-driven work and the role effective media can play in supporting it.

How Success Is Measured:

  • Campaign budgets are managed carefully and aligned with agreed goals.
  • Optimization decisions are timely, well supported by data, and focused on meaningful outcomes.
  • Tests are structured to produce useful insights that inform future media decisions.
  • Platform reporting is considered alongside available CRM and backend results.
  • The Strategist receives clear, actionable analysis and context.
  • Campaign setup, reporting, and documentation are accurate and reliable.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $60,000 to $100,000. The final offer will reflect the candidate’s experience, skill set, and level of responsibility.

What Delve Deeper Offers

  • A 401(k) plan with a 4% company match.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
  • Up to three months of paid parental leave.
  • A $1,250 annual wellness reimbursement.
  • A hybrid work model, with Tuesdays through Thursdays in the office and Mondays and Fridays remote.
  • A collaborative team that values curiosity, growth, coachability, and focused work.
