Works with Navy customer personnel and other organizations to provide solutions to the fleet.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform shipchecks and waterfront field verification, prepare system specifications, and develop design drawings for the new installation and modification of existing electrical systems and components aboard ship and at waterfront facilities.
- Read, interpret, and troubleshoot Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) systems using various Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs), including structural/arrangement drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Perform electrical load, short-circuit, coordination, and voltage-drop analyses.
- Prepare electrical drawing and design packages such as one-line diagrams, cable and wireway lists, and panel and equipment arrangements. Include cable routing and cable pull lists.
- Conduct peer design reviews and QA checks, recommend solutions, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on design decisions.
- Generate, modify, and review requirements and design specifications and support the Navy's systems engineering process.
- Develop installation, inspection, and test procedures, and support system installation, testing, and commissioning aboard ship and at waterfront facilities.
- Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions using specialized test and diagnostic equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and network traffic analyzers.
- Track issues identified in test or deployment to resolution through the product lifecycle.
- Prepare operating and malfunction reports and related documentation and prepare and brief status reports to customers.
- Assist with quality assurance testing of assemblies and equipment.
- Prepare shipboard design deliverables such as Ship Alterations (SHIPALTs), Ship Change Documents, and Technical Work Documents, and maintain configuration management and drawing revision control.
- Revise and prepare HM&E logistics documentation, including but not limited to Technical Manuals and Maintenance Requirements Cards (MRCs), user manuals, product specifications, and training materials.
- Select materials and specify components suitable for shipboard and waterfront service conditions and develop associated Bills of Material (BOMs).

- Prepare red-line markups and incorporate as-built and field changes into design drawings and installation documentation.
- Provide subject matter expertise to equipment technical assistance teams in the assessment, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of shipboard and shore-based equipment, including on-site support at shipyards and waterfront facilities.
- Accomplish assigned engineering tasks and functions efficiently and on time.
