Original job description

Position Overview

Are you an experienced, passionate pioneer in technology who wants to work in a collaborative environment? As an Application Support Engineer, you will have the ability to share new ideas and collaborate on high-impact projects supporting mission-critical financial services initiatives-without the extensive demands of travel. If so, consider an opportunity with Deloitte under our Project Delivery Talent Model. The Project Talent Model (PTM) is a talent model tailored specifically for long-term, onsite client service delivery.

Recruiting for this role ends on 11/14/2026.

Work You'll Do / Responsibilities

This managed services role supports a large technology client through Deloitte's Engineering as a Service offering within AI & Engineering. You'll lead round-the-clock production support and reliability engineering for business-critical applications-guiding engineers, owning escalations and service quality, and partnering with client teams to improve stability, responsiveness, and recovery.

What you'll do

Lead tiered production support and prioritize daily operational work.
Coordinate major-incident diagnosis, communications, restoration, and post-incident reviews.
Oversee incident, problem, change, and release processes in line with ITIL-style practices and client policy.
Define and monitor service-level indicators and objectives; use observability tools to identify issues early.
Lead automation of repetitive work to improve recovery times and team efficiency.
Partner with application, platform, security, and business teams on resiliency, capacity planning, and disaster recovery readiness.
Coach engineers, manage on-call coverage, and report service performance to client and Deloitte leaders.

A successful candidate would possess these skills:

Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
Ability to meet deadlines

The Team

AI & Engineering leverages cutting-edge engineering capabilities to build, deploy, and operate integrated and verticalized sector solutions in software, data, AI, network, and hybrid cloud infrastructure. These solutions are powered by engineering for business advantage, transforming mission-critical operations. We enable clients to stay ahead with the latest advancements by transforming engineering teams and modernizing technology and data platforms. Our delivery models are tailored to meet each client's unique requirements.

Engineering as a Service provides complete design, implementation, and technology operations, leveraging our core engineering expertise. We transform engineering teams, modernize technology, and deliver complex programs with a product engineering approach. Our flexible delivery models-traditional teams, pools, or pods-are tailored to each client's needs, offering engineering-led advisory, implementation, and operational capabilities to accelerate innovation.

Qualifications

Required

7+ years of experience in application support, site reliability engineering, or production operations for business-critical systems in a client facing consultant role
4+ years leading or mentoring technical teams and serving as an incident escalation point.
3+ years applying ITIL or equivalent service-management practices and using an IT service management tool.
3+ years using monitoring and observability platforms and scripting for automation (e.g., Python or shell).
4+ years working with a public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and CI/CD practices.
5+ years communicating effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, and/or equivalent professional experience.
Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
Must be able to work in a Hybrid model - minimum of 3 days onsite at the client location in Dallas, TX.
