Senior DevOps Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure & Core Services

Position Overview

DAn Solutions is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, automate, deploy, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure supporting mission applications and enterprise services.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD automation, and cloud security within government environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure.

• Develop Infrastructure as Code and Ansible automation for consistent deployments.

• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting automated builds, testing, security checks, and deployments.

• Integrate automated security testing and vulnerability remediation into development workflows.

• Support AWS GovCloud and DoD Impact Level 5 environments.

• Implement centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting.

• Manage platform access controls, secrets management, and certificate handling.

• Troubleshoot Linux, cloud networking, storage, and container orchestration issues.

• Automate patching, deployment validation, rollback, and recovery processes.

• Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Typically 10 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Previous Intelligence Community experience.

• Hands-on AWS infrastructure experience, including networking, compute, storage, and IAM.

• Experience managing Kubernetes environments.

• Experience with Ansible, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.

• Experience scripting with Python, Bash, or similar languages.

• Experience with Git and version-controlled infrastructure.

• Experience with Agile, DevOps, or DevSecOps practices.

• Agile Developer or Certified Scrum Developer certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant discipline.

• DoD 8140/8570 IAM Level II or III qualifications.

• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift.

• AWS GovCloud and DoD IL5 experience.

• Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and reusable Ansible automation.

• Automated application security testing and container image scanning.

• Experience supporting stateful services, databases, and recovery procedures.

• AWS, Kubernetes, Red Hat, or infrastructure automation certifications.

Work Location

This is a full-time, on-site position at a government facility. Charleston, SC is preferred; highly qualified candidates in the National Capital Region will also be considered.

Salary Range Disclaimer:The posted salary range represents the good-faith minimum and maximum compensation DAn Solutions expects to pay for this position. The position may be filled at different Labor Category (LCAT) levels depending on the selected candidate's qualifications and applicable contract requirements. Final compensation within the posted range will be determined based on the applicable LCAT and factors including education, relevant experience, certifications, and other required qualifications
