Quality Assurance Technician Cut Fruit Express - Inver Grove Heights, MN

Pay: $18-$23 per hour, depending on experience Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 12:00pm-8:00pm (closing shift) Benefits: Medical insurance, SIMPLE IRA retirement plan, and 80 hours of paid time off per year

The Quality Assurance Technician makes sure every product Cut Fruit Express distributes, packs, or produces is safe, wholesome, and meets company standards for food safety and quality. The role covers every stage of the operation: raw materials, processing, finished product, storage, handling, and shipping. On the closing shift, you will often be the main quality contact on the floor.

Responsibilities

• Uphold Cut Fruit Express's food safety and quality requirements at all times
• Inspect incoming products against specifications
• Perform plant inspections and process checks (e.g., wash water pH and temperature)
• Check finished product for quality and conformance to specifications
• Calibrate equipment according to schedule
• Verify that products are made to specification and on time, following SOPs
• Document processing notes and sample records accurately
• Collect samples for in-house and outside-lab microbiological testing
• Train new and existing employees on GMPs, quality SOPs, and new product specifications
• Provide quality support to the production team
• Work safely and follow all company safety policies
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ year of quality assurance experience in a production facility, preferably in food production
• Understanding of basic quality control and quality assurance concepts
• HACCP, SQF, PCQI, or USDA experience a plus
• Self-directed and able to work effectively with or without supervision
• Able to work effectively with a diverse workforce
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Able to document information clearly and legibly
• Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

• Able to work in a cold environment (34-40°F) for extended periods
• Able to stand and walk for the full shift
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Able to wear required PPE (hairnet, gloves, smock, etc.)
