Culinary Internship

Culver Franchising System’s Summer Internship Program offers students the opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on experience while learning alongside experienced professionals. Throughout the summer, interns will contribute to real projects, build practical skills, and gain exposure to the work that supports the Culver’s system. Our 2027 summer internships are expected to run from late May through mid-August, with some flexibility.

As the Culinary Intern for Summer 2027, you’ll get an inside look at how culinary ideas move from concept to reality within the Culver’s system. Working alongside our Culinary, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams, you’ll gain exposure to the behind-the-scenes work that goes into developing, testing, and maintaining the products our guests know and love.

What you'll do:

• Assist with product tastings and evaluations
• Support management of Test Kitchen and Research & Development equipment
• Prepare samples and manage inventory
• Conduct shelf-life tests, sensory analysis, and ingredient reviews
• Complete other research, testing, and product excellence initiatives
• Ideate, develop, and present a new menu item concept to CFS leadership at the end of your internship

What you’ll learn:

• Product development and commercialization
• Sensory evaluation
• Principles of commercial manufacturing, food safety, and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)
• How to cultivate ideas into real-world products

What we are looking for:

• Current pursuit of a degree in Agricultural & Life Sciences, Food Science, Culinary Science, or another related program with at least Junior status
• Restaurant experience is highly preferred (especially Culver’s!)

Starting Pay: $16.00 per hour

This is a full-time, paid, 12-week summer internship at our Support Center in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin right on the Wisconsin River, just a short drive from Madison!
