Original job description
CILA Supervisor (Residential House Manager)
Location: Park Forest, IL Residential CILA Homes
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, with weekday on-call responsibilities and a rotating weekend on-call schedule
Salary: $51,000–$54,000 annually, depending on experience and education
For one person, a great week might mean learning to make a favorite dinner. For another, it might mean using their own debit card to meet a friend out for lunch. As a CILA Supervisor at CTF Illinois, you’ll get to know what matters to each person who lives in the homes you oversee. Then you’ll lead a team of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who help make those everyday choices possible.
A Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) group home is a home in the community where adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities live together and receive support tailored to their needs. Staff help each person shape daily life around what matters to them by building new skills and getting involved in their community.
Whether you’re an experienced DSP ready to lead or a supervisor looking for your next opportunity, we’re looking for someone people can count on.
What You’ll Do
- Put each person’s choices first. Spend time in the homes getting to know each person’s routines, interests, relationships, and goals. Ask what they want, advocate for their choices, and help staff put those choices into practice.
- Coach through everyday experiences. Work alongside DSPs to help each person build skills at their own pace, from grooming and personal care to planning meals, managing a household, making purchases, and using a debit card.
- Support a healthy lifestyle. Ensure each person receives the support they need with medication administration and appointments, as well as support staff in providing healthcare supports.
- Make room for fun. Help each person build a social calendar around the people they want to see and the things they want to do. Arrange the support to make it happen, whether that’s hosting a game night, attending a local event, or trying something new.
- Lead a team people can trust. Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate DSPs. Lead staff meetings where people can raise concerns, share ideas, and leave knowing who will do what. Give clear feedback, recognize good work, and help staff grow.
- Keep the homes running well. Maintain a safe, clean, welcoming environment. Manage household budgets and supplies, keep documentation accurate and timely, and follow agency policies, safety standards, and state regulations.
- Be a steady presence. Provide hands-on and on-call support when questions or concerns arise. Communicate clearly across shifts, follow up on decisions, and represent CTF Illinois at meetings with outside agencies and community partners.
Benefits
- Comprehensive health insurance, with optional vision, dental, critical illness, and accident coverage.
- Company-paid life insurance and short-term and long-term disability insurance.
- Paid holidays, sick time, and accrued vacation.
- 401(k) with company match.
- Cell phone stipend.
