Job Summary Step Down Unit Nurse – Night Shift – Location: [Location Placeholder] This acute care facility is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with specialty in Step Down to provide high-quality patient care on the night shift. The role involves managing a typical MedSurg patient population, including cases like chest pain, COPD, AMS, and pneumonia, across a unit with 32 beds. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. Job Details

• Shift Time: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS Certification; 2 years of experience in a clinical setting; valid license to practice as a registered nurse; location outside 50 miles from the facility
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with MedSurg populations, telemetry reading skills, and titratable drip management in a stepdown or medical-surgical environment
• Additional Information: This role requires candidates to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless a valid medical or religious exemption is provided. The unit operates with a nurse/patient ratio of 1:3 for stepdown patients and 1:4-6 for general floor care. The RN will be responsible for reading telemetry strips, managing titratable drips, and working within an electronic charting system (EPIC). The unit includes telemetry monitors and RT equipment such as vents, Cpap, and BiPAP. The facility provides unit-specific orientation and maintains a flexible float policy to accommodate staffing needs.
