Registered Nurse / Step Down Unit

Job Summary Step Down Unit in Asheville, NC. This position provides care for patients with cardiac and progressive care needs, including congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, and post-cardiac procedures. The role requires telemetry experience, progressive care expertise, and proficiency with titratable cardiac intravenous medications. Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; stepdown or progressive care experience; telemetry experience; experience administering titratable or cardiac intravenous medications, including nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin, heparin, or bumetanide; ability to provide compassionate, flexible, and team-oriented patient care.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with prostacyclins, including Flolan, Veletri, or Remodulin; relief charge experience.
• Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Patient assignments typically include a 1:4 ratio, with stretch staffing up to 1:5. Clinical responsibilities may include care for patients with cardiac conditions, diabetic ketoacidosis, post-cardiac catheterization or stent placement, and post-pacemaker, implantable cardioverter-defibrillator, or ablation procedures. Bedside cardioversion may be performed. Every other weekend is required. Required attire is all-white or all-navy scrubs, or a white top with navy pants.
